Saint G asked:

I am buying my girl a diamond ring and want to do it right. When buying the rock what is most important….carat, cut, clarity or color. She’s very petite her ring size is 5 1/2 so I am thinking 3/4 carat would be plenty big, but I don’t want to do this halfway. Any help sure would be appreciated.

Thanks

JOLIE

make sure that it’s not a blood diamond, as in a diamond that has been bought through slave owners or conflict

1/2 carat isn’t bad to start out with, 3/4 would be great, it can be mounted (special mounting) to make the stone stand out an appear larger… clarity is important… I would rather a high quality in clarity than size any day… good luck…

alot of my bf’s friends are getting engaged at the mo so I know a bit about diamonds. Alot of people won’t agree with me, but I would say cut. My preference is brilliant or princess cut, as it catches the light the best and is very petite and feminine. While it is important to have decent clarity, most people won’t care or even know when they look at it. Hope this helps!!

well it sounds good to me. just make sure that if you are doing gold or silver or whatever, that that is her fave kind. personaly i like silver or white gold over gold itself. im sure that she will be happy with whatever you decide

it depends on the girl, is size all she is going to see, or is she mature enough to appreciate a high quality smaller diamond. Also ask around for a reliable jewler, do go to the mall.

The most important aspect of buying a diamond is your disposable income.

Get a Canadian Diamond, they are great quality, you know no slave labour was involved, and your helping a friendly Canadian out.
Contact them canucks, they are the Diamond Lords now.
Conact any of them, the Diamonds are brilliant as any other rock, made in America, and they sorta use reclimation of land practices.
