Multicolored pokemon in diamond and pearl?

What is the benifit of multicolored pokemon in pokemon diamond and pearl? I caught a different colored gastrodon, but i dont know what’s so good about it?

    there’s nothing special about shinys except that they look cool, but yours may not be shiny. you probably got owned by gastrodon since it comes in 2 colors

    Nothing. They are just offering you a choice. They are nothing special. The same with Burmy… it can have 3 different cloaks.

    well there is two different colored gasrodons pink is in the west and green is in the east i dont htink they are shiny

    Theres no benefit on catching a multicolored pokemon or as known as Shiny Pokemons. The only thing special about them is that every time you encounter a pokemon you have a 1/8000 chance of seeing one. So I recommend you catching one if you see it. because they are very very rare. The Gastrodons you caught was probably one of the two colors of Gastrodons like Pink in the West side and Blue in the East side. You can tell if its a shiny pokemon if it glows and sparkles come out when it does its cry .

    There is but a possible benefit. When you trade many people are looking for different colored pokemon(a shiny). Although they are hard to find
