I could use some info on diamond blades. If you could say what the application and name as well as where they come from if you know I would really put the info to good use.

Can someone find me a picture of a 1 carat princess cut diamond with a very thin yellow gold band?
Filed Under Diamond Cutting | 5 Comments
I’m searching for one. Please help me find a picture of this: 1 carat princess cut diamond with a very thin yellow gold band. Thank you very much!
A ring… that is
“Lorenzo” Thank you but that’s not a princess cut. A princess cut is a square diamond. Plus, I’d like to find a picture of a solitare diamond. I appreciate the effort though!
“cornelius” I did on “google images”, but it didn’t produce the results that I wanted. So now, I have to search each page one-by-one. I just wanted to know if I could get some help, that’s all. I’m looking too.
“Mizzy” Beautiful! Thank you so much!
“carlosp” Also a good picture. Thank you!
“Wondering” That’s exactly the band-type that I want. Thank you!

What type of diamond cut is this?

What is the name of a diamond cut that is similar to a marquis, but instead of points on the top and bottom, it’s flat? I can’t find it anywhere on the internet and I’m trying to figure out what type of cut the stone i have is.
Picture a marquis, but the points on top and bottom are slightly flattened. The middle section is a little wider and slightly pointed. Maybe this is just an unusual fancy cut?

What is the best orientation for a cushion cut diamond in an engagement ring setting?
Filed Under Diamond Cutting | 4 Comments
I am having a setting designed for a cushion cut diamond which is slightly rectangular (1 edge longer than the other)
When viewed from the top, what do you think the best orientation is? The long edge parallel to the shank of the ring or perpendicular to it?

The basic techniques of diamond cutting haven’t changed since the 16th Century. From NATURE’s “Diamonds” airing Sunday, September 30th at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings).
The program examines the oldest, hardest natural substance in the world - diamonds — from their beginnings in the core of the earth, through mining and acquisition, to the history of the most famous of these extraordinary gems. Actress Stockard Channing narrates the program.
